Starting a transaction: เท่าไหร่ครับ/คะ (thao rai khrap/kha?) — How much? อันนี้เท่าไหร่ (an nee thao rai?) — How much is this one? ราคาเท่าไหร่ (raakhaa thao rai?) — What is the price?
Bargaining (the fun part): ลดได้ไหมครับ/คะ (lot dai mai khrap/kha?) — Can you reduce the price? ลดหน่อยได้ไหม (lot noi dai mai?) — Can you discount a little? แพงไปนะ (phaeng bpai na) — That's a bit expensive (said with a smile). ขอ... บาทได้ไหม (kho... baht dai mai?) — Can I have it for... baht?
When you want to look around: ขอดูได้ไหม (kho duu dai mai?) — Can I look? มีสีอื่นไหม (mee see uen mai?) — Do you have other colors? มีไซส์อื่นไหม (mee sai uen mai?) — Do you have other sizes?
When you want to buy: เอาอันนี้ (ao an nee) — I'll take this one. ขอสองอัน (kho song an) — I want two.
Walking away — often the best bargaining move: ไว้คราวหน้านะครับ/คะ — Maybe next time. This often prompts a price reduction mid-step.
